QuiQui - Everything Is A Remix (195 songs in 72 minutes)

Post Mon Jan 26, 2015 2:52 am

Hi,

In the past year, I've worked on a project called 'Everything Is A Remix'. In this mix, I wanted to tell a story about sampling and remixing and show how important is has been in the evolution of music. I ended up making the ultimate mashup, including 195 songs in a mix of 72 minutes.

Thanks a lot! Would be great if you can frontpage it. It's not a classical mashup but a very big one I guess ;)

Any other reactions are very welcome!

If it's not really a mashup, what else is it?
If this is not a mashup, none of Robins' "PopLove" or Daniels' "Pop Danthology"
would be mashups, too. And still I would consider them mashups.
Sure, they're multi-mashups, as this one is, too.

But back to the track itself. I am just 10 minutes into the track and I am stunned. :1shocked:
Guess that's the first time ever I liked and re-posted a track on soundcloud before at least
listening to more than 1/4th of the total track. :1laugh:

Kudos, great work!

Wow, this is impressive! So much so I've downloaded and shall be driving to this in the car tomorrow :1grin:

But yeah, I dunno, this is more a mashup set to be honest... But we post bootleg remixes on the FP anyway, it's not always mashups, so why not add this? :1tongue:

I haven't listened to all of it yet however it does remind me a bit of Osymyso's track. I mean that in an ambitious holy hell this is good and inspires me to listen to more music and mix and mash things. Well done.

One of the stix team/moderators has to like it and think it's good enough, then they'll put it on the FP. :1smiley:

It's like surfing through a box of chocolates to find the best ones;

> Some mashups/tracks may be good, like a mars or milky way: which are good, but not good enough to make you that excited to eat them.
> Some mashups/tracks may be terrible like bounty, ie: out of key or off beat tracks.
> Then you got your best ones; maltesers, galaxy, dairy milk, truffle, and so on - those are the ones that get FP'd, or in chocolate terms: make you go 'yesyes nomnomnom' :1smiley:
