Sources used:

Started something a lot more complex and threw in the towel by Wednesday night :-/ No wonder Earworm needs a month for each one.

Rappy and Hulkmash - Awesome mashups! Both are soooo good! This is going to be another photo finish!

and I think I can use both of your mashes in my next kick boxing mix :)

BTW - Rappy I like the way you used color and maching color graphics in your posting of sources :)

Listening to Rappy's as i type:
After 3 secs you know you're about to listen to a Rappy mash! Poptastic :)
The verse vocals (Phil Collins? Not the I Can't Dance bits, the other bits) are too loud... Just compare them to the chorus vocal volume.
I like how you've chopped up the different vox, very adventurous.
Hmm, but it seems like it's lost its way a bit as it goes on. And 1 or 2 of the vocals seem a bit ook?
Bit of donald duck fx noises near the end - i like!
Hmm, tough one. I'm gonna give this a straight 3 - i like the fact you've tried to push the boat out and gone multi-source, but there's not much structure and like i say, it seems to get a bit lost towards the end. (I've been guilty of the same when i've tried that - Earworm truely is on a different level!).
So 3 for Rappy - nice tune mate, i admire what you were going for.

Listening to Hulk's as i type:

As with Rappy's, your female vox are too loud.
Owl city sounds really tinny - think you've put some fx / eq on but not quite nailed it. Doesn't sound bad, but just not great.
Oooh - the "break it down" bit is cool. And it came at just the right time otherwise it was in danger of drifting on. I like. The OneRepublic bit sounds nice.

Your's and Rappy are actually quite similar in style hey!?
Hmm. Neither are up my alley so to speak, but I'd give this a 3.4, as i think it's a similar concept to Rappy's and i gave him points for that so i've got to give them you too. I think Hulk's is slightly better crafted though, and doesn't have any potential clashy bits, so that's the difference.
So i'll vote a 4 to give the margin to Hulk.
Nice tracks though guys - good work :)

Dylans thoughts:

Isnt it weird that you both went for a similar style (as did Sergio & Flashard). Anyway ....

Rappy:
Well made, and also its in keeping with Rappys 'King Of Cheese' title. I feel the vocals are a bit loud, but they are very cleverly placed to form new lyrics in an Earworm esq stylie. Thing is the different samples are so fast coming at you, your ears cant keep up. Earworm will mess with choruses but normally uses either full verses, or almost full verses.

Its well pitched, and you should be happy with the mix. Probably the most ambitious of the challenge so far.

I vote a 4.

Hulk Mash (Bevander):
After your Frontpaged mash, I was looking forward to seeing how you would come with the time constraints). Same approach as Rapster with forming your vocals, and its easier on the ear that Rappy's.

I actually like this more than Rappy's due to the up to date sources, and I would give it a 4 also.

If I had to choose a winner, it would be ..... Rappy - but only because he repitched stuff and makes things work that shouldnt. A close (very) battle.

I ended up inadvertantly putting myself under a much stricter deadline by working on an Earworm-style mega-multi-mash until Wednesday night, then realizing Thursday that I had less than two days left to finish it. Ended up putting it on the backburner and starting something new. I'm looking forward to getting back to my first project after the tournament, but for now I'm just giddy I was able to get something done within the deadline :|

Hrm....the only modification I made to the studiopella was speeding it up....(checks the file)....44.4%. Oh my, I'm guessing that's what caused it. Hah! Something to know for next time :)

44.4%!

Crikey! General rule of thumb which you may or not have heard - Speed anything up over 10% and you're going to get side effects. Not necessarily saying never do it or anything like that, just be aware.
Although that said, i wouldn't have guess you'd sped the sample up by that amount, or that that's what even triggered my comment! So what do i know!?
