speed upgrade to the FP

Just talking out loud...

I did some major testing this week on site performance on all the major browsers.

every browser excluding.... internet explorer (gee what a surprise) had good and above speed/load/scroll performance.

so I tweaked a few things and IE should run pretty much perfect now...

- no more browser lag scroll
- site loads a bit faster
- increased the speed the mp3 initiates and runs its scripts a bunch.

If you are a IE user..... and god help you if you are ... please let me know either here or by PM if you notice any speed increase... and especially if your scroll lag is no more. Thanks in advance.

btw, my xbox got the red ring of death....... again...... new xboxes are still $200.... whaaaaaaaaaa... for basically a 6 year old computer.... 0 for 2 in my books microsoft.... you are now on my lifetime ban list with apple, for companies I won't be supporting with my money..... bla.

Where'd the artwork thumbnails go? Also, Michael83 appears to have disappeared (as it were).

I'm using Chrome as well, and yes the album artwork is missing.

Edit: Oh nevermind. I see you have to hover over them to see them. Is that because you're trying to speed things up without preview icons?

Michael83 is gone as there is no mp3 that's downloadable for it..... it can be re-FPed once vic uploads one somewhere.

right you have to hover over the icon to see the cover art.... and now I realize that maybe a camera icon with a little plus doesn't exactly say "hover here to see the art"...

so any suggestions on what icon would work or convey that??

Also, yes the small cover art previews were removed thanks to our good friends at microsoft for making their shitty browser reload every single one of them every time you scroll the page.... they did work perfectly in all other browsers.

Hi Paul, I use IE8 sometimes ...and to confirm, the FP loads like shit off a shovell. No lag - all fast as lightning for me. Congrats. Shame about the icons for the artwork - it was nice to see a thumbnail of them next to the track, but if it's no longer poss I'm sure ppl will work out to hover the mouse (I did automatically, without knowing, and the bigger piccie popped up)...

Well I use IE primarily because I have to support it on all my users and yes it works fine and fast on mashstix so thanks very much for the speed increase. What will that cost us? what's that you say it's still free here at mashstix? Lordy Pauly when's the IPO happening on this bad boy!
