Right, It's time for you to think seriously whether you are prepared to play nice with the other kids or not.
If you are not, then i suggest you leave our forum.
The track of Hifi's that you posted above was from a weekend competition, Hifi had no choice as to the sources he used and also apologised for it not being completely in key. Trying to discredit him like that was very low.
I don't know you, this is true but since you have been with us, you have spammed our forum, shown a lack of humility and now you are trying to belittle another member... I think that speaks volumes as to your character.
G is a guy we know well here at Stix, he's well liked and well respected... because he understands the benefit of constructive feedback.
If this is the case, accept that three guys here have heard the same problem with this track. There is a key change at the point mentioned and as such MJ's vocals are out of key.
Mashstix is a family, we protect our own here, if you want to be part of that family and reap the benefits it provides then i would suggest you leave your ego at the door otherwise leave and I'll be quite happy to delete your membership. It's your choice.

Mashstix is no longer what it was! Now I understand why great bootleggers like "Bendoublem" are no longer active today! You have the right to criticize but the producers have no right to defend his job. Many bootleggers complain of your methods on this site! If I propose my productions here is to share with other fans like me. I am always open to criticism but when it is based! For you the key is not good on this passage, I am sure that's okay ! You can of course criticize the construction, the spirit of the mashup, sources ... , but don't talk about things that you don't know! I do not use melodyne to judge the correctness or not, but the rules of solfeggios! This will be my last speech on this site ... Sorry for the spam beyond my control, because I'm also a respectable person Lloyd!

1, I was asked be a mod for a reason. That reason is because I provide honest feedback, can tell when things are bad and when they aren't and am not afraid to tell people this.
2, As for 'don't talk about things you don't know', the track was indeed made for an informal competition between friends late last November. It was made in about 30 minutes (the challenge takes place over a weekend) and could certainly be improved. The keys don't match 100%, the timing's all over the shot, yes, I agree with you. That does not stop your track being out of key at the points mentioned. As an aside, I'm impressed you took the time out to dig up some dirt on me. It shows dedication, if nothing else.
3, Of course you have a right to defend your job, but I don't see why you are. You post something here, we make comments on it. You vehemently disagree with these comments. Obviously, we feel these comments are based in something or we wouldn't make them. No-one's attacking you, your job, your experience or success. We're not even attacking this track. Just observing.
So, calm down and reassess your position and behaviour.

No you are right, Mashstix is bigger and better than it ever was, It's now the number one site on the web for bootlegs and mashups... we have the highest number of daily hits and the most active members of any mashup site out there. As for Ben if he had ever been a member here i'm sure he'd still be active today; we like to support our members.
Maxijo wrote:but don't talk about things that you don't know!
Enlighten me then... I was of the belief that i had ears, that should be enough to qualify as "knowing what i am talking about"
Quick question to all the members here... who trusts my ears..?? be honest.
If this is to be your last post here, well to be honest I'm glad for the community... but sad for you, you'll be missing out on a wealth of free help and advice... but as it seems you feel you don't need it... carry on and good luck.
Re: MICHAEL JACKSON Vs. JASON DERULO
My god, the great thing about this place is any tiny thing in your mashup which isn't quite right these guys will spot for you and it's really damn good for learning, no matter how experienced you are it's ok to admit that these guys might still spot something that isn't quite perfect.
Like on this track with the OOK vocals.
It's normal that when somebody spots an issue in your track that you thank them and perhaps fix it if you wish or else just learn from it. The idea is NOT to argue back and defend your case.
If you don't like good constructive feedback on your vocals then leave, we don't care how big you are.
We ain't youtube

ooh! fight! i love a good fight
oh and just cos your a dj dont mean you can make music and the same goes if your a musician, it still dont mean you can make music just cos you can play music (two totally different things, trust me i know i'm both and have been longer than you)
but then muso's are really bad at taking any kind of critism

'leave your ego at the door'- great advice.

Re: MICHAEL JACKSON Vs. JASON DERULO
Why does this happen every time I go on vacation?
Well, I was entertained anyhoo by the comments. I must say that everyone kept their cool on their replies and were to the point and honest. Nice job guys speaking honestly yet firmly. I won't add anymore to this thread but think it's a good learning experience for any existing and future members. Maybe it should be a sticky
