Some of you may remember that I made this one last year for round 1 of the Mashstix challenge. I realised today that I hadn't actually released it 'officially'.

Speaking as someone who never makes it past round one, I am customarily depressed by the perfection exhibited in Smashing Cola. In fact, I probably listened to it at the time and thought "Yup. This is why you'll never get to round two, g4g."

The other track is great too - lots of fun. Josh needed some echo though (pick pick).

Thanks G4g. I did try a bit of reverb/delay on the vocal but found it made it a bit too washed out and 'fluffy' compared to the tight backing. I'm always trying to fight the need to put delay on every vocal I use.

this is really nice, I don't know that Infected Mushroom song at all but musically it doesn't half sound like DM... I thought it was a remix of Behind The Wheel at first

Just one niggle is in the first bar of every 4 the vocals sound OOK, it's D# over an A minor backing which is "the devil's interval" Would benefit from a semitone pitch shift one way or the other just for these bits.

Agreed, the first bars of every verse do sound ook - this is still a very nice fit though.

Cheers Lee, Andy and G3RST. Yeah I know what you both mean about the OOK problem. Personally I blame the 'wobbly' vocal but don't think it's off enough to pitch anything (I hate trying to crowbar vocals to fit). My personal rule with mashups is 'if the vocal doesn't work 100% all the way through then don't make it'. Maybe I didn't adhere to that this time around
