It's about time. Given the shrinking revenues from CD sales, this makes so much sense as there are plenty of people who will pay for this type of material. £3 for a tracks stems from Beatport seems a little steep but I have been known to pay it for tracks/artists I love. Even commercially releasing instrumental versions of albums would make a lot of sense.

I'd actually start buying DVD/CDs again if the albums came with HQ stems on them :)

don't forget about Indaba at http://www.indabamusic.com as they let you do a few remix contests for free and I've downloaded some nice stems from them all 100% legal and legit to do :) and you might be able to win some cash, contracts, etc if you enter one of their contests with a good enough production :)

Mines are pretty mediocre but I do enjoy making the artwork, more than the video anyway :)

I suck at coverart and just make super basic ones here and there. I use an old program called paint shop pro but I think that Photoshop is the king now but dunno. I would think just treat cover art like any paint project. Go to youtube and start reviewing tuts on photoshop.

Hopefully, more people who make coverart on here will chime in with what programs they use. Many names come to mind especially one - CLT (ANDY) hello...ahemmm you might want to chime in here ;)

Photoshop is the standard, but if you're looking for a free version of it might I recommend GIMP

http://www.gimp.org/

It's very similar to photoshop...but free!

I usually look for nice wallpapers online to make my cover art from. Nothing too exciting. I just crop them down to size and make a fancy title.
