Re: Prince Vs. Phil Collins Easy Lovin Thieves
I'm digging V3. The mix and relative vocal/inst balance sound good to me.
Minor nit: when I do these 80s-style fade-outs, I try to put a bit of the mashed-up acapella in it; this one is just the Phils, maybe sprinkling some Prince in there would help cement the illusion.
Keep raidin' them Paisley Park treasures, you are onto something here.

With Prince where does one even start? Dude has 35 albums at least the ones I know of! Maybe SOTT or DMSR is next, Yeah I might include Phil instead of the karaoke singers towards the end, Let's see what the others think and sorry for the delayed response!

Well, I have to say the instrumental still sounds a bit weak, even when compared to the YouTube version of it…I don’t know if that’s just generational loss from ripping it to mp3, then re-rendering it, or what, but at least it’s better than it was in the previous version.
Instrumental quality aside, I can’t poke many other holes in this mashup. Great work!

What happened was the person that posted that karaoke instrumental didn't have a download link so I recorded it via Audacity rendered the track in WAV Format, Then when I was doing the mix I rendered it again in MP3 format, So because I recorded it in Audacity rendered it in Audacity then re-rendered it in Reaper that led to some generational loss.

I agree.
Not sure if you are using the same version, but this one sounds better to me...

Still, that one on YT sounds better![]()
Did you manipulate the mental in some way?
I did through a suggestion that warezio said there was a way to do it without generation loss but I right clicked properties it said it was 93 Kbps, So even if I did this without Generation loss it still wouldn't be great, Tried to find a better version on various karaoke sites yet the drums sounded weaker then in V3, In short most other karaokes were garbage, I don't know if I should continue or not I guess V3 is as good as it gets.
