Round 2 Presser
Round 2 Presser
First of all.... congrats to all the producers advancing to the finals!! We had a very long panel and the choices were tough....
How round 1 was scored:
Ok, we looked hard at the tracks involved, picking out of the top three voted mashups in every group. We looked for:
Originality - We really didnt want to hear the same old sources.
Style - How much attention to detail you gave.
Tempo & Key Matching - Obviously this is a must.
Genre Clash - We'd like to hear some.
Effects -
We also wanted to see how well you promoted your track, and how active you have been during the first round.
OK So here are the winners:
Group A: Nosbic
We felt it was slightly more adventurous that the others.
Group B: Rappy
Late entry, but your promotion made up for it. Plus you were the only person who actually wrote 'please vote for the other mashers also' - that was very sporting.
Group C: Mighty Mike
Easily the hardest group to come out from. Mikes track could be considered one of the best in the whole challenge so far. There again what a group to be in !
Group D: Graffiasxs
A well executed multi mash with nice use of original track.
Group E: DJ Flashard
Another close group. Flashards wins on promotion of his track.
Group F: Jarod Ripley
Very hard fought group. Jarod Wins because of promotion and he made us dance.
Group G: DJ Perriere
This group came down to two people, Perriere's just pipped it.
Group H: Daveskii
Highest voted and best executed. Now it gets hard !
Wildcards: Rick Lee & Richards
Both mashups impressed the panel enough not to leave out of the final.
ALL THE ABOVE WILL RECIEVE A PRIZE (details to be announced at the end of the Challenge).
Onto THE FINAL AND ITS THEME!
All the above mashers have two weeks from today (Wednesday 8 September) to get their track in and get votes! The earlier you get your track in the more time you have to get the votes .... simple eh?Your track must have a dance theme and include three sources – One from the 1980’s, one from the 1990’s, and one from the 2000’s. Send your finished tracks to admin@mashstix.com with the title, and source list. There is no need to produce a video for the final (unless you want to).
Remember the earlier you get your track in the better !
Great job fellas!,

Re: Round 2 Presser
A very fun first round that gave birth to many great mashups for the world to enjoy. Congrats to all those who made it, as well as us sods who did not! Now where do those who fall into the latter group post our variations on the Round 2 theme in order to prove that we deserved to be there instead? New thread someone? I'm excited to work on this even if it doesn't count!

Just wanted to also say a HUGE THANK YOU to Paul and Dylan who put all this challenge together, with all of your hard work and making this a fun time
Also, thanks to any other panelist that voted for the winners. That was a very tough job to choose between all the great mashups!
