The world of MIXCUT

Halli STIXis Image,

Some of you guys know him already, but it’s time to (re)activate The Ol’ Man also here on MASHSTIX and this should be just a simple flashback or overview. So, because he calls me his mashup sister I'm allowed (should I better say forced???) to introduce you to one of yours, one of ours. Let me (re)present you my dear friend:

Image Mixcut

Mixi (aka Captain Chaos aka The man without any concept) lives in Saxony-Anhalt/ Germany. He’s older than Czech Republik, but younger than Britain (I have to tell you this ’cause he’s ashamed of his age) and he was an active DJ between 1987 and 2003 (he says he had a concept then…- who knows Image). Mixcut’s styles are oldschool, electro, breaks, house, mashup and more – oldfashioned, maybe, but with more heart and less electronic tools. The self-called Summit of Human Evolution published an electro ep (vinyl record, limited edition of 500) in 2000 and together with Cameron Paul (Mixx-It Remix Service) an oldschool mix ep (color vinyl, limited edition of 100) in 2007.

BTW, here are some of his latest works:

Okay, your beloved spamqueen wasted enough of your time! Image

Please find all players and downloads here: >>>>> http://mixcutz-world-of-mixes.blogspot.com/<<<<<

Enjoy his stuff and please be kind to him ’cause he isn't the youngest anymore…! Image

Mixcut doesn't look much older than me and certainly he can't be older than Boris (who's pushing 103) so nothing to be ashamed about age there mixcut :)

Also, I think perhaps what would get Mixcut more listens and comments is if Mixcut himself took the time to post one of his mashups in the submit mashup section. Come on in the water is fine here and mashstix and join the fun! Just a suggestion :) Cheers!

Also, one question - I noticed on Mixcut website that there's a link to Mixcut's world of stems on a link on his website but since I don't read German I'm not sure if you can download stems from that site (i didn't see any download links to stems?) or what it's saying?

Now I'm just going to assume that this kind of general post about someone else's body of work is not really the kind of thing that should be posted in this specific forum. What if all of us made posts about our friends who don't visit Mashstix to post their individual tunes themselves?

It would be annoying wading through that crap.

Perhaps this commercial for mixcut would be better suited in the chat section, if at all.

p.s. I really hope you make some goofy animated gif about this.

:D Well well, let's see...

@RockstarBruski: You may be right, but Andy is not a cow like dear Boris, 103 cow-years are around 41,2 human years and that's pretty cool for a potential steak, hm?
To tell the truth we tried to pimp his site a little, but there's still a lot of german language used on his homepage. That's also the reason why he is registrated here but does not post: He simply cannot speak english. And he does not understand hungarian. But as a friend of mine I try to help and support him, because we both are able to communicate in german.
The other thing is the link to the stems: Looks like he did that last week and I am not sure what he wants to do there, so maybe there'll be download links, maybe it'll stay a show-room. I'll ask him today!

@Frail Limb Purity: You're not the first, you'll not be the last! But beside all conspiricies I am a 31-years-old halfblood chick from Hungary (mom was hungarian, dad was from West-Berlin).

*Sorry, this pic was too hot: It was stolen and sold to Hungarian Playboy Magazine. You came too late, boy...* That's me - sorry, but I'm really neither german nor a man

Andy's and my love for 80s music & mashies made us friends when we met some years ago in my old home-board where I was MOD, later I stalked him during the chats of his radio shows. :D

@Rhythm Scholar: Yes, I see your point and I wasn't really sure where to post it. I just wanted to do this "commercial" as a sign that he's still there, and from now on we (he himself or I instead of him) should post forthcomming single tracks or samplers where they belong to. No provocation, just simply..., I don't know, I wanted him to be re-recognized by you folks! Sorry if it disturbed! If so, please let the MODs know so they can transfer it somewhere else. :) Main problem is really the language and I just wanna help him...
Jep, gifs will follow, but Andy does his artworks by his own, so I'll just use my gifs as an answering tool. ;)

For what it's worth, he's got some good stuff there. Enjoyed the M5 mash and the Blue Monday re-work :)
