MashMike - Get Up, Superlove (Avicii vs. Byron Stingily)

Postby MashMike » Wed Jun 06, 2012 2:41 pm

feeling hypnotized from the Avicii-track with Lenny Kravitz i had to do this mashup:

Avicii feat. Lenny Kravitz "Superlove" vs. Byron Stingily "Get Up Everybody"
with a little sample from Salt ‘N’ Pepa “Push It”

this is an interesting pairing very hypnotic sounding that is for sure.
I know this has a looser structure to it and I'm trying to determine if my brain just isn't in synch with the structure as my mind keeps telling me the vox needs to be tighten up a bit with the beats of the mental. But maybe it's just my mind? Help me out people what are your thoughts? let's hear some comments! :)

Yeah - this takes me back to my clubbing days, I haven't heard the Byron vocal in forever! Brought a smile back to my face, remembering when CLT conquered Ibiza :)

It does need a slight tightening on the vocals - it's hard to put my finger on it, because everything is approximately where it needs to be, but as has already been said, it feels a tad loose.

But it's a guaranteed floor-filler and I could see it being played outside various bars in the sun :)

Don't ever be sorry for asking :) I can't give you exact marks as I think what you need to do is go through the whole mashup and look at where the vocal emphasis is beginning and ending on each verse and look at where that is lined up with the beats and the mental measures. I had kind of the same problem with my last mashup in one section until Glynn gave me the tip to change my DAW view to 1 bar wide (or whatever he said) and then I could actually see where my vox was off and then it was pretty easy to line up correctly.

Here's a picture of what I'm talking about (top half of pic is where the pella is OOT just a bit and bottom half is where it's exactly in time. When it's on you can really tell the difference!)
