[FP]DAW-GUN - Living on Casbah (The Clash vs. Trans-X)

DAW-GUN
Living on Casbah
Sources:
The Clash - Rock the Casbah (acapella)
Trans-X - Living on Video (instrumental)
The source tracks were coincidentally both posted in the same week and my mind immediately put the two together. Here's what I came up with, let me know what you think!

Wow! I never expected to hear The Clash give up their roots and make the switch to electrosynth pop. It almost feels like a betrayal.
Despite the betrayal, I must admit the pairing and arrangement work great together. I did find the vocals for the main Casbah verses have a bit too much punch, especially when I played it on the bigger speakers, and they started to sound a little out of place. But the levels and type of sound (effects/processing) on the Casbah chorus blended in quite well with the instrumental.

I was hit by a bullet right between the eyes and I'm dead!!
Perfect choice of sources. The two hits in the early 80 years ruled the world.
One of the punk culture and the other in italo disco. Amazing that the hearing today and that with equal pleasure.
101 x Respect!! it must immediately hit on FP!!!

Hmm...
The only niggle I have with this is the fact that Joe can hardly sing in key
Otherwise, I'd whack it on the FP...
What does everyone else think?

Aye, very nice pairing here. 80s meets 80s in a very well excecuted mix.

Thanks for all the props everyone. This one was fun to make.
I totally agree that Joe's voice leaves a lot to be desired - but that was punk, right? I suppose I could autotune him....NOT!
I'll take a listen to the verses on the studio monitors tonight and see how much I can bring them down. I agree that there's a difference in the hotness of the verses compared to the chorus. I'll check it out.

Good ears, sir!
Yes, one of the last things I did was to layer the instrumental choruses and that caused the chorus vocal to be squashed. Then when I brought up the vocals, the verses ended up too loud. I didn't catch that.
I've uploaded a new version under the same link. Hit play again and let me know what you think now. And thanks for the great feedback.
