(!) Aerosmith Vs Ray Parker Jr. Dude Looks Like A Ghost!

Post Sun Sep 15, 2019 1:39 am

The Metallismith mash didn't work out so I am here once again, Comment and critique once you get the chance, It was either put Dude looks like a lady with Lick It Up, Celebration, Highway To Hell etc. But I chose Ghostbusters instead.

The combination is good. :1smiley:
The mix starts out in time, but eventually goes OOT. The word "Dude" should start in between the beats as the rhythm is syncopated there. By the end of the mix the timing is off by quite a bit.

The extra guitar and horns seem to me to be doing you more harm than good.

V2 is on the OP! I have shifted the chorus vocals so now they are in between the beat instead of right on top of it, Comment and Critique once you get the chance.

Sounds in key during dude now. I think the whole song is slightly off beat compared to the original vocals placement. But you may be going for that?

I'll let you and the other mods figure that out though. :1smiley:

Dude! Super 80’s nostalgia!

Mashup is perfect for me up until the second chorus (1:10.) You’ve got an extra half a beat in the edit there that should be cut out, and then right after that the vocals switch to (I think) 2 beats earlier than they are the rest of the song. I would try to stay consistent and stay with the original phrasing, like you did in the first verse and chorus. Think of the line “dude looks like a lady” going approximately where “I ain’t afraid of no ghost” would go.

The drums-only bridge is a great idea. Problem is, you continue the 2-beats-early vocal placement from earlier and it makes the phrasing awkward there.

The surprise KISS is cool. It does seem a tad early, like milliseconds ahead of the beats.

The Aerosmith vocals for the rest of the track are still on the 2 beats early cycle.

Pretty cool, though. Hope you can get this one tightened up. Halloween is coming!

Really good job with this one RayMan. I just listened to V4. I was so close to Frontpaging it, but towards the end of the track (around the 2:45 mark) the timing of the vocals goes off sync and come in too late. Would you be able to just amend this section to tighten it up with V5 as it’s nearly there for me? Just need to match it to how it sounds in the first chorus from 1:11.
Plus, also it seems to end quite abruptly in V4, can you perhaps do a fade out?
