Hi DJ Legato, thanks.
I use Sony Acid Pro 7; because DJ Schmolli used it and I read this book on mashups - dj earworm - audio-mashup-construction-kit-extremetech - that uses it.
In the book Adobe Audition is also used (for making acapella's); this week I found some specific things Audition can do very well, so I will be using that as an addition :1grin: to Acid.
- Like stretching a track to the required tempo with your mouse,
- spot correcting pitches in a spectral frequency display
- all sorts of filters and compressors ready in templates for telephone voice, or "radio announcer".

Thought so :1smiley: Acid pro is an underestimated DAW, ive moved on to Ableton Live, but i still use AcidPro from time to time where unAbleton don't cut it (beatmapping an uneven tempo) I also miss the easy zoom in and out by scrolling on the mouse. Live should implement that asap! Imo.

In Acid you can do this by holding down your CTR key, and use ur mouse to stretch :1wink:
- spot correcting pitches in a spectral frequency display: You can spot correct pitch, but there is no visual display..
- all sorts of filters and compressors ready in templates for telephone voice, or "radio announcer" : This sounds like Izotope Nektar plugin to me, you can download it for "free" and use it in AcidPro :1cheesy:

This is done to perfection, but it has no wow factor.

It doesn't add anything to the rap, and there's no thematic gag or anything. It's not especially boring but it's not especially interesting. Sorry if I sound harsh, but it's a pass from me.

at Legato:
I can stretch a (cut) beatmapped sample with my mouse in Acid (even without ctrl), but I just get more of the sample, Acid does not change the tempo to make it fit with a beat (Audition does).
In the spectral display, Audition shows the pitches of the notes (A, A#, B, C, and so on), not in a very clear way but it looks a bit like the way Melodyne does it.
