Adam Dutch-Symphony of Black Beatles(Rae Sremmurd v Megadeth

Adam Dutch - Symphony of Black Beatles (Rae Sremmurda vs. Megadeth)

Sources:
Rae Sremmurd- Black Beatles (Acapella)
Megadeth- Symphony of Destruction (Stems)

Going along with my theme of Current Hip-Hop vs. Classic early 90s Metal. First came up with the idea for this in August. Started working on it on the ferry ride back from my mashup seminar at DJ Expo, but just now finished it up. Trying to bridge this gap between hip-hop and rock since Rock is in dark days right now.

Any thoughts would be appreciated:

Interesting combo, Adam :1smiley:
I still feel the distance between the sources and I think with some tweaking on the vocals you can make it more believable. I guess you can lower the mid range freq. a bit and maybe you can use some distortion or flanger effect to help the vocals get in this heavy tune and it also might help to mask this DIY pella :1wink:

The need to process the vocals provides a lot of opportunity for creative thinking. I'm simultaneously reminded of RATM (vocals would need processing to sound like Zack) and the Scorpions (I really wanted anthemic swirly tempo delay with words like "pleaser").

Yeah, those filtered vocals need some serious effects/EQ to clean them up, but if you are able to (sounds like it might be tough), this is great.

Agreed, the vocals do sound very DIY at times. I think the distortion suggestion is a great one to help the vocals fit better.

Also I think bringing the vocal volume down in parts could help disguise them better...Which you might be able to do just by adding some reverb (pull the vocals out of the foreground a bit) and bringing up the wet signal.

But I definitely approve this combo!

Updated. 2nd draft with tons of EQing/Distortion/Some other vocal effects.

Nice editing throughout. The effects are a good touch but for me it doesn't feel like the energies match on this one. The vocals are too laid back for such and aggressive song. imho

V2 is definitely improved.

At the opening of version 2 I thought the vocals didn't match, but then things really clicked at 0:42, 1:24, 1:37 ... basically anytime the guitar is arpeggiating everything is awesome. For the other parts, I suspect some distortion (guitar amp?) and less reverb on the vocal might sit better.

The rap part at 2:35 is great, don't touch it!

Overall I think this is a fairly clean metal instrumental so you should be able to get these to gel.

This is getting better, version 2 sounds more reliable, the chorus parts sounds very good, but something still not working for me with the verses, don't have any idea how to improve it :1undecided:
