Star Man - I Am The Product (POWERNERD vs. Breaking Bad)

Instrumental: POWERNERD - I Am The Danger (https://soundcloud.com/powernerd/powern ... the-danger)

Instrumental: Dave Porter - Breaking Bad theme (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2cUjbRW9vM)

Vocal track: Star Man - Breaking Bad intro dialogue

Vocal track: Matthijs Vlot - Breaking Bad dialogue supercut

I am Star Man!

Today, I noticed that the astounding retro-electro Daft Punk-like group, POWERNERD had released a brand new track! Upon first listen of this great song, I remembered an old supercut remix on YouTube by the great Matthijs Vlot,

and saw it potentially working very well with this song.

With a bit of readjusting and re-mixing, an introduction added by myself, as well as some Breaking Bad instrumental at beginning and end, the usual star powered effects, and a whole lot of luck, I have achieved what I was imagining!

Now to see if it has any errors I am unable to notice - thank you for your time!

All vocals from 0:37 on are composed by Matthijs Vlot from various Breaking Bad scenes (vocals up to 0:36 are my addition)!

I am listening on headphones, but I felt the V1 above had the vocals too loud at times. I have remastered the whole track in an attempt to give more power back to the instrumental (past giving the intro vocals more bite), and have the vocals in with it, instead of yelling over it. Also put the vocals through a 2nd reverb, and through my favorite compressor.

It may well be worse, but it sounds better to me, so this will be a 2nd option, a V2, or 'I Am The Product Season 2'!

Original post transmission code re-translated to include Season 2 preview player and track links. Thank you for your time. ★

That's funny, I was thinking about making a Breaking Bad mashup as well :1rolleyes:

It's really nicely done, and I like V1 a bit more than V2, but your track sounds just like an original. That cover art is the bomb as well, I love it!

Good job :1laugh:

Thanks - listening out of normal speakers, I do agree that Season 1 sounds better. Still, the last part sounds too loud to my ears. I may end up doing a Season 3, which tones down only the final 3rd of the song vocals. ★

Personally, I don't watch TV any more (gave it up about 5 years ago) and although I've heard of Breaking Bad, I haven't seen a single episode of the show. But this reminds me a bit of the old Max Headroom show intro for some reason...

As far as my preference goes, V2 sounds better than V1 to me.

I have made Season 3 (V3), combining the ample volume of the 1st half of Season 1, and toned down volume of the 2nd half of Season 2, making them now balanced.

I have removed V1 and V2 above to simplify things from this point forward, and to save any potential listeners the trouble of listening to 3 version, with only minor volume fluctuations dividing the group. ★

It has a certain appeal to a narrower audience. It's well done. I approve.

Thank you for your time and space on the front of the pages! It is always also a highly positive energy for me to see one of the sources I transmit react with positivity to one of my transmissions themselves, so it did fill me with Star Power to notice that the group Powernerd enjoyed and shared my work on one of their pages, also. ★

Ah, Max Headroom! That is a universe I could see myself enjoying!

The story of Breaking Bad follows a husband/father/high school Science teacher who finds out he has terminal cancer. Fearing he will leave his family with no money in his passing (his medical prognosis being kept secret from his family), he ran into a past student who was selling the street drug methamphetamine, and after learning a bit about his young past student's business and product, he quickly realized that with his ample knowledge of basic Chemistry, he knew how to make a far superior product, which could result in earnings for his family when he is gone.

This product would soon make him the most profitable methamphetamine producer in the world, working for drug kingpins, earning enough income in cash to be listed on Wall Street's NASDAQ, had it been legally accounted for. But this income and mainly hidden notoriety came with more than an equal amount of troubles and danger.

Soon enough, this dying man, who came to be known as his chosen secret moniker 'Heisenberg', was fighting for his life in other ways, caught up as a major part of the billion dollar criminal drug business, and had become a monster, ending up craving the power he had found in his immense wealth and name, forgetting why he had started it all in the first place.

Hopefully this quick synopsis illustrates the dialogue in the track a bit better for those who have not watched the show. ★
