Is this site legal?
Even though it deals with bootlegs and mashups, This site doesn't offer any files for download nor does it contain direct hotlinks to any files.
How come when I hit the Download link it takes me to the main (Index) page of another site?
I think your smart enough to navigate yourself through the link to find whatever you might be looking for (sites linked may or may not contain files for download).
Also, I don't want to hotlink and cause disrespect to any of these great music makers and really think that their websites should be checked out the way they were intended. If link goes to a subpage (ex. /mashups or /downloads) it's because the owner of that domain has let me know that they would prefer it that way.
Why does Matchstix.com exist?
I personally have been a huge fan of remixes, mixes, bootlegs and mashups since they became popular on the net a bunch of years ago. This site is meant to be a guide and review to unique songs made by people who do it for the love of it while not making any sort of a profit along the way. You'd be suprised how many people don't even know that these songs exist.
How did you get the idea for Mashstix.com?
When I would play these songs at parties or even when hanging out with friends they would always ask "where do you get these songs?". The ones that knew all about Booties where always asking "I wish someone rated these songs so it would be easier for me to get what I wanted". So there you have it, I hope this site will solve both for you.
How are your review scores calculated?
Scores are voted by YOU! That's right, there's no need to register or log in to be able to rate any song on the site with a 1-5 rating. There is a anti-cheating system in place to make sure only one vote per song is allowed per user.
