This is the last Mashstix Alternative Show. I like to personally thank G3RST for the amazing job he's done with the show (don't worry he's not leaving the team)
There is some good news with the bad however, as The Radio Stix Show will be back in full swing with a whole new crew... keep your eyes peeled! - Paul Stix

(Madonna vs. Mr. Hudson)
The man they call Reggie comes up with a hip hop sounding Madonna mix of ray of light. Madge goes pretty well over this, I have to say. Production sounds alright, one of the better boots from you dude.
Cons:
Sounds like a DIY pella of madonna, takes the production away a lil bit Reggie, apart from that none. It's up there with your Lady GaGa/Surivor boot.
Tips:
Maybe time next throw in Mr Hudson and replace madonna's chorus with the original track, to give more life to the blend.

Dj Submitted - Added 08/17/09 Dance Of The Tiger
(Lady Gaga vs. Survivor)
It's hard to dislike any mashup based on the "Eye of the Tiger" instrumental, especially when the vocal fits with it so well.
Cons:
You're not going to win any originality awards for mixing songs as overused "Eye of the Tiger" or "Just Dance" but so long as the end result works as well as this, who are we to argue? You've already tweaked the track quite a lot, levelling out the vocal levels, so there's little left to gripe about. The timing of the "ju-ju-just" vocal snippet at the end of the choruses could still benefit from a little tweaking though.
Tips:
This is a great crowd pleaser, and there's nothing wrong with making people happy. Your responsiveness to suggestions is much to your credit too. Keep learning and I'm sure you'll tracks will only get even better.

Dj Submitted - Added 06/20/09 Golden Yeah
(Usher vs. The Klaxons)
After a couple of unsuccessful submissions, it is nice to hear a mash from you that is on the right tracks. Generally a pleasing little mix - a straight forward A + B that seems to run it's course with no major hiccups. The vocal seems to fit the background proceedings fittingly at all times with no real Out Of Key sections to speak of.
Cons:
Firstly I would say that you need to spend some time with the mastering of your tracks. I feel it is overall a bit on the quiet side, which, considering it *is* primarily a Rocky Bassy tune - you need to punch out that backing track a lot more strongly with some mastering software (Check out any 1 of Dan Mei's tunes to see what I mean in regards to PUNCH!). You should never rely on what you download as being 'ideal' in it's equalising and volume. All source material should be cleaned up and equalised prior to mashing. On the plus side though you seem to have gained a happy medium between the 2 sources in regards to the overall equalising of both Vocal and Instrumental play alongside one another - I just wish it was all louder and more prominant in my eardrums.
Tips:
Bar what I just mentioned I think your presentation lets you down a bit. I understand fully if you are just a casual masher then fair enough, but I think you need to present the way you grab your MP3's in a more friendly format. You need to make people feel like they want to download your tracks and that it's never a chore. Fair enough, you can pay to host a site (as I do) but as DJ-Not-I mentioned, there are plenty of free and versatile other sites out there like Fairtilizer that you can then host on your Website to either preview or download the tunes you create. Things like ID information on the track itself and cover art will also help your cause. To me presentation is just as important as the music itself.

(Beastie Boys vs. Kate Nash)
This is totally a new take on a Beastie Boys and Kate combination. The interaction between the vocals and the instrumental is great. I enjoyed your track and I think it's potentially a hit on the dance floor .
Cons:
Your idea is a very fresh one, there are some parts of the track, though, where the voice is a little low. Also, I feel that your mash could be a little shorter. Because you made an A + B mash with the same chorus and instrumental loop it can get a bit repetitive. At 4:11 minutes long could be a bit long even for a hip-hop track.
Tips:
You have great potential, try to get better quality in your mashes by mixing and compressing all the tracks, I will closely follow your work .,.....cheers!!!!

(Katy Perry vs. Ladyhawke)
From the title I was expecting to hear Katy Perry singing – phewww. Its a well executed mash. The acapella fits very nicely with the instrumental. I would imagine that you’ve had a good response to this elsewhere.
Cons:
There isn’t any really. Youve spent a while doing this and it tells.
Tips:
I commend you for leaving this mash for a week, and coming back to it with as you say ‘fresh ears’. It can be a good idea to do that, or get yourself a mash up buddy to preview your tracks. Alot of us do that.
