Grab The 41 Track Double Cd Here! The legendary remixer S.I.R drops by Mashstix to give us his double CD compilation featuring a lot of tracks by Monrose. This is how you pull of great A + B mashes folks. This one is a keeper for vocalist fans (like myself)!
Hard hitting indie-rave fusion. DJ Bynar Delivers the goods yet again.
When you see the name Bynar on a mashup, you know it's going to be good, and this is no exception. A challenging project well executed by the bionicaly engineered mashup ninja assassin.
Cons:
I wouldn't even dare to try and mix these 2 tracks, neither has much space in the mix and as a result this does at times sound like a long dj mix, a vey good one, but not like a track in its own right.
Listening to this mashup pushes me back to 1994 when a younger G3RSt saw the first Crow movie somewhere in a sneak preview. The song 'Burn' by the Cure was in that one as well, and both movie and soundtrack were really gloomy, epic and renewing for their time. Now some 15 years later, Bynar comes along and takes one of those forgotten Cure gems and blends them with something nobody would ever think of.
After listening to the original Kris Corleone track, it's amazing to hear how much a vocal can gain by being placed on the right backing track. In this case, it's totally overhauled and given a whole new context. Even the French accent seems fitting and decadent in this setting.
To cut things short: this is a great track!
Cons:
There's cons, and there's nitpicking, so here's nitpicking... The vocal could do with a bit of boost in the low areas and maybe some light compression. Mind you, this would only make the track slightly better.
Tips:
Hahahaha! No. Just keep on dreaming up combos like this.
Awesome track! Everything, from choice of sources, to basic mix and song structure, to beatwork and glitching, to dense industrial-like production, to massive vibe creation, works like a charm here, turning three (actually four) great, but individually rather innocuous, tracks into one unrelentingly sinister beast! And although this is truly scary stuff, it's not without its subtleties: like a classic horror film compared to a splatter movie. It's the perfect soundtrack for Halloween (the holiday, not the flick!).
Cons:
None. Some people might say it's too dense, but I think they'd be missing the point.
Tips:
Keep on rockin' your unique style and bringing us the dark-side bangers... And have a great Halloween!

(Metallica vs. Sisters Of Mercy vs.
Sisters Of Mixing vs. NIN vs. Duse)
After a slightly sinister start (ha), this track will get anyone going. Your productions have got better and better. I don’t mean the actual blends, I mean your tracks as a whole. Production wise, you are one of the best now. It’s great to hear how simple you make a mutli source mash sound. Your mastering is also getting much, much better. It’s great to see, and even better to hear Bynar – Keep up the great work.
Cons:
There is no cons to your work, in fact thinking back over your last few, I can’t remember there being any.
Tips:
I remember you made a breakbeat style mash a while ago. I would love to hear a bit more of that style come from you – but thats hardly a tip. You’re the king of your genre bud !
Dj Bynar - Dj Submitted - Added 08/01/09 The Beginning Of A Fine Day
(NIN vs. Opus III vs. Deep Dish)
It's a pleasure to finally review a Bynar track. Sharing similar tastes and attitude, it's easy for me to appreciate his sophisticated blends of darkwave/goth/indie/industrial substance with contemporary dancefloor sensibilities, and no less his uncompromising approach. This track is no exception - more like a renegade remix than a mash-up, elements of NIN's "Beginning of The End" are interwoven with the electro thunder of Deep Dish and quaint, though vaguely ominous, vocals courtesy of Opus III. The result is a true-to-form eclectic electro banger, underpinned by that deep down & dirty bass.
Cons:
This might befefit from some in-the-mix EQing to really bring out Reznor's vocals and unmuddle certain parts, but that's always the challenge when working with more than one instrumental.
Tips:
Keep on keepin' it real! :D And people: expect a Bynar/Not-I collabo soon! **Note By Paul Stix: You heard it here first folks, I know we were all waiting for a Bynar/Not-I collab and now it's really gonna happend. Completely made my day!!! Perfect styles match!
Dj Bynar - Dj Submitted - Added 07/11/09 Surviving On A Dream
(Empire Of The Sun vs. Hybrid)
Bynar this is more like it mate. This is one of your best tracks in my opinion. The use of Hybrid to ‘hype up’ the track is inspiring. This could easily be either an official remix release or an original track (if you pardon my oxymoron). Everything from track length to mastering is top notch here. I don’t save many mash ups, but this will be getting the right click treatment from me. For me this is both a SOTW contender and could also be number one in the Radiostix top ten – Very good work mate.
Cons:
None. Production wise this is perfect.
Tips:
You don’t need any tips, you’re stuff is going from strength to strength. Personally I would like to hear some more breakbeat type stuff, as I think you’ve mastered it.
Dj Bynar - Dj Submitted - Added 07/03/09 Give Me Love Tonight
(Bon Jovi vs. Yordis)
A wonderfully, professional-sounding track. I could see this on a label-release. I totally think this is a floorfilla meant for the club. Great use of duel vocals. Such a complimentary pairing. The tunes involved are well-spotted.
Cons:
I wouldn't say no to some type of vocal effect(s).
Tips:
Loop this sucker when playing live for even more bynar-y goodness. :)
Dj Bynar - Dj Submitted - Added 06/26/09 Abuse The Dominion
(The Sisters Of Mercy vs. Sweet Light)
One of our favourite Mashstix producers is back with another great track. This mash has Bynar's name all over, there is no doubt of that. Its a really powerful track, and a potential dance floor hit. All the elements of the track are perfectly well matched. The combination of the vocals with the electro style are very cool I give you an A !!!!!
Cons:
The audio quality could be a little better but that’s all.
Tips:
Keep working with your great style man, this track will be in top ten for sure.
Dj Bynar - Dj Submitted - Added 06/18/09 Ride For The Kill
(Metallica vs. La Roux)
In a previous review I said I'd like to hear you experiment with more diverse genre clashes. Well you've most certainly done that here, and to good effect too. The Metallica vocal is a toughie to work with, but this is by far the best mash I've heard of the track. I'm a fan of the La Roux track too, so this scores high marks for me.
Cons:
As I said above, the Metallica track is a difficult one to work with, and there are spots here where the vocal sits a little uncomfortably on the backing. This isn't really too much of a problem though - it's all part of the feel of "Ride the Lightning". A bigger problem for me though are the La Roux vocals, which occasionally come in at some odd points (especially 3:12) and don't sit quite right on the beat of the instrumental.
Tips:
A little tweaking of the La Roux vocals and you've got a great little genre clash here. Good work.
Dj Bynar - Dj Submitted - Added 06/15/09 A Forest In Paris
(The Cure vs. British Sea Power vs. Mylo)
Excellent tune! All in time and key and a great combo you spotted here. I always liked the mylo track but I would never have thought to mash it with the cure..well done!
Cons:
None.
Tips:
Keep em coming ;-)
Dj Bynar - Dj Submitted - Added 06/05/09 Fade To Mary Chain
(Dune vs. Visage)
Another keeper here from Bynar. With every mash you are getting better and better. This one features a drum and bass instrumental from Visage coupled with Dune’s Indie hit.
Cons:
Mash wise, there is nothing wrong with this at all. Personally, I would love for you to try something else. We know you can mash the darker stuff, but I would love to hear you expand into another genre.
Tips:
None for you, you’re abilities are getting better and better, keep it up.
Dj Bynar - Dj Submitted - Added 05/22/09 A Fairytale To Hide
(The Killers vs. White Lies)
Considering this is a DIY acapella of the Killers track it sounds fairly good for the most part. The two elements gel well and make for a pretty natural sounding mash.
Cons:
Some sections of the DIY acapella get lost in the backing, and would benefit greatly from an increase in volume.
Tips:
Although the White Lies instrumental is quite different to the original Killers backing, the two bands are fairly similar, so the genre clash element is lost. You'd get much more of an impact mixing together bands from different genres. Even adding it some White Lies vocals could give it a bit more bite.
Dj Bynar - Dj Submitted - Added 05/17/09 Heaven In My Sombre World
(David Guetta vs. UNKLE vs. Tenek)
WOW - this is one of the best tunes I've heard in a while. I simply love the ambient touch you gave the highly overrated guetta house-tune. this is so much better than the original!
Cons:
It sucks that Ii didn't have the idea for this. I played around with the guetta vox myself a lot but I never found such a great fit..
Tips:
I want more chillout tunes from you! :-)
